Denali is an American brand, the absolute top among auxiliary lights for motorcycles. Uncompromising performance, materials, and workmanship.
Wiring the lights:
- You can connect the lights in the traditional "dumb" way, meaning you connect two wires to the contacts of the motorcycle battery and a third wire to the so-called switched positive. The switched positive can be found depending on the type of motorcycle, for example from the main light, taillight, switch, etc. The disadvantage is sometimes a more complicated connection, interference with the original wiring, and not utilizing the full potential of the lights. For such a connection, you need the Denali Standard Wiring or the Denali Premium Wiring.
- The lights can be connected using the Denali Cansmart electronic management system. This allows for plug and play connection, no interference with the original wiring, and a wide range of settings for how the lights should behave (e.g., brightness, quick flash simultaneously while honking, turning off one light while signaling, connecting additional components, etc. See the function description on the electronic management device page).
- Where you do not want or cannot use Cansmart, the best connection is via the Denali DialDim Light Controller.
For mounting on a crash bar, you will need clamps or even better Denali metal clamps.
If you do not have and do not want an upper crash bar, the lights can be mounted on specific brackets according to the type of motorcycle:
R1200GS Adventure LC 2014-2018
G310GS 2018+ will require clamps.
To utilize the maximum potential of the lights, connect using the Cansmart electronic management system according to the type of motorcycle:
R1200GS Adventure LC 2014-2018
You can connect the lights in a two-channel setup, meaning, for example, the middle strip of LEDs will function as daytime running lights, and when the motorcycle's high beam is activated, all lights will turn on. For this setup, you only need the light assembly and Cansmart.
Another option is to connect the lights in a three-channel setup. In this case, the lights can operate as described above, and the middle strip of LEDs will also serve as turn signals. For this configuration, you will additionally need two 160cm extension cables.
For motorcycles where you do not want or cannot use the Cansmart unit, you can utilize the universal Denali DialDim light controller.
